There is no doubt about it, hemorrhoids can really hurt. BUT, if you are wondering how to treat hemorrhoids at home, then you have come to the right place. Here are some real and practical tips that will give you quick relief.

The first thing that you need to do when you are seeking home treatment for hemorrhoids is to understand what they are and why they occur in the first place. Simply speaking, hemorrhoids are bulging veins in the anus area. They may or may not bleed, and can become (but are not always) quite irritating and painful.

Hemorrhoids have several main causes. They include genetic predisposition, sitting for long periods of time, straining during bowel movements, and pregnancy. Hemorrhoids caused by pregnancy will often resolve themselves after the baby is born and can be treated effectively in the mean time. To treat hemorrhoids that are caused by sitting or straining, you need to treat both the symptoms and the underlying cause of the problem.

One thing you need to know, although I have successfully treated my own hemorrhoids, I am not a doctor. If you think you have this condition, or if you are experiencing any bleeding at all in the rectal area you should always be seen by a doctor. Most of the time your symptoms will be hemorrhoids, but sometimes it is not, and you should always get checked to be sure.

How to treat hemorrhoids at home:

I have personally tried lots of things to cure hemorrhoids and in my opinion the #1 thing you can do to get instant relief from the pain and swelling is to use ice. Ice is magic. I was a little skeptical at first, but then I tried it, and it was amazing how much it helped. There are basically two ways to apply ice to a hemorrhoid. You can use and ice pack and place it directly on the hemorrhoid or you can buy a product like hemorr-ice, which is a freezable insert and will treat not only your external hemorrhoids, but also your internal ones. Ice is of course free, but the hemorr-ice product (which people love) is only $15 at Amazon, so both are easy and low cost.

After you have iced your hemorrhoids, you will want to consider using an over the counter suppository. I prefer these instead of creams for a couple of reasons. Suppositories are less messy and easier to deal with, but the biggest reason I like them better than any type of ointments is that they help your bowel movements to be easier. This is a great thing, because it will help your hemorrhoids to heal faster. Preparation H makes a quality hemorrhoid suppository that is easy to use and effective.

Once these two steps are accomplished you should be in a lot less pain. If you aren’t feeling less pain by this point then you can take some Tylenol to alleviate the pain as it can really help.

After you have treated the initial pain, it is time to consider the underlying cause of the condition. In order to reduce (or even eliminate) flare-ups of your hemorrhoids, you need to fix the bowel habits that got you there in the first place. If you strain when you go to the bathroom, you are only inviting your hemorrhoids to come back in a worse way than ever.

To avoid straining (and ultimately help keep your hemorrhoids gone for good), you just need to do a few things. The first thing you should do is drink plenty of water and add fiber to your diet. You can take a fiber supplement, but the best route is to eat more fruits and vegetables. I have found that eating two high fiber fruits a day – such as apples and pears – is a great way to stay regular. Beans and whole grains are also good sources of dietary fiber.

Fiber works so well because it is what is called a bulking agent. It makes your waste soft and easy to pass. Which if you suffer from constipation you know this is a good thing.

Another thing that really help is going to the bathroom as soon as you get the urge. Holding it can just cause constipation and irritation to just get worse.

If you treat your hemorrhoids at home and then take steps to keep them from coming back, you will likely see great results. 90% or more of hemorrhoids will respond to this simple treatment plan, but if yours don’t be sure to see a doctor as there are many great options available to you for hemorrhoid relief.

Many people suffer from hemorrhoids (about 50% by age 50), so if you are dealing with this sometimes embarrassing condition then you are not alone. There are also many different types and grades of hemorrhoids and thrombosed hemorrhoids are among some of the most painful.

What is a thrombosed hemorrhoid?

A thrombosed hemorrhoid is simply a hemorrhoid that has developed a blood clot. They are not dangerous, but look frightening and are painful. Sometimes they can bleed as well. The good news is that most thrombosed hemorrhoids will resolve themselves in about a week. If the pain becomes unbearable you should see a doctor. Also, any time you have anal bleeding you should also see a doctor to make sure what you have is indeed hemorrhoids and not something more dangerous like colorectal cancer. Most of the time the bleeding will be caused by hemorrhoids, but it is always good to be safe.

Thrombosed hemorrhoid treatment.

There are several steps that you can take at home to treat a thrombosed hemorrhoid. If you are in a lot of pain, one of the first things you should do is take Tylenol. You want to avoid NSAIDS such as ibuprofen, because they can make the bleeding worse. Next, you will want to use a cold pack on the affected area. If the area is hard to reach with ice, then you may want to get a product called Hemmor-ice, which is basically an insertable ice pack. The ice will really help to alleviate the pain.

Another thing that you may find helpful is using a hemorrhoid cream or suppository. The suppositories work particularly well for thrombosed hemorrhoids, because they make elimination much easier which is very important when you have a lot of pain. Finally, taking warm baths (no bubbles) can really help to soothe the painful area.

There are also surgical options available if the pain is unbearable. If you go to the doctor or emergency room, they can often cut out the clot and give you nearly instant pain relief.

Thromobosed hemorrhoids can be very painful, but these steps should help.

There are many kinds of hemorrhoid ointments on the market that claim to heal hemorrhoids instantly and some are better than others. Here are some tips to finding one that actually works.

The first thing that I would recommend that you do is go to a site like Amazon.com/hemorrhoids and check out the product reviews of the different hemorrhoidal ointments. Also don’t limit yourself to strictly ointments there are some very good products that are oils and suppositories and even some homeopathic medicines that get great reviews.

There are several products at Amazon that get good customer reviews. The first that I will mention is called hemor-ice. This is a unique product. The hemor-ice unit is put in the freezer and is inserted directly against the hemorrhoids at least twice a day. It is basically an ice pack that is made specifically to treat hemorrhoids, and while it is not a hemorrhiod ointment, the people who have done reviews on it have found it effective. The best part? It only costs $12.95 so it is certainly worth trying.

The next product that I think is worth mentioning is Hemorrhoids Treatment by Healing Natural Oils. For those that are interested in an all natural product this is one that customers like a lot. It is completely organic and the two reviews it has on Amazon are both very positive (5 stars each). It is an oil, which is very similar in application to an ointment.

The final product that I will mention is Preparation H. Preparation H is widely available at drugstores and supermarts across the country. It comes in a hemorrhiod ointment, a suppository, a cream, and wipes. Of all of these the suppositories get the best reviews at Amazon. People really like that they cool the hemorrhoids and that they work to help bowel movements be easier.

There are many good hemorrhoid ointments that work effectively. Check out the reviews and give some of them a try to find what works best for you.

First off let me tell you there is no magical pill that will deliver a hemorrhoid cure. There are however, several steps that you can take that will give you relief from pain and the ability to greatly reduce flare ups.

What are hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids are simply blood filled sacs (which everyone has) that get swollen and irritated. There are different degrees of hemorrhoids with some being more difficult to treat than others. Some of the symptoms of hemorrhoids include lumps at the anus, itchiness, redness, and pain, and rectal bleeding. Hemorrhoids themselves are not dangerous, but other diseases can look like hemorrhoids. So if you have hemorrhoidal symptoms be sure to see your doctor.

Hemorrhoid cures

With hemorrhoids the best you can generally do is to treat the ones that exist and take steps to keep the new ones from forming. This is the closest to a curing hemorrhoids that you are going to get.

Let’s look at some natural home treatments that are available and very effective.

Use cold compresses or ice to reduce pain and swelling

Take warm baths (sitz baths) to soothe and keep the area clean

Take fiber supplements and/or cold liver oil to keep regular

These three steps will help a great deal in treating and healing most hemorrhoids. Here are some other steps you can take at home.

Use over the counter medications like Preparation H or Tucks which have vasoconstrictors (reduce swelling) and analgesics (for pain). Take Tylenol (not NSAIDS like Advil) for pain and discomfort.

By following the above steps, most hemorrhoids will heal themselves in time. Once you get rid of the pain it is time to focus on keeping your hemorrhoids from coming back. The most important thing to do here is to develop healthy bowel habits, because constipation and straining are the number one cause of hemorrhoids.

You will want to add fiber to your diet, but do it gradually, otherwise you can get gas. Good sources of fiber rich foods include beans, vegetables, whole grains and fruits. You should should for 25 grams of fiber a day. If you are having trouble getting it in you can always add high fiber cereal or supplements.

Another thing that you can do to promote good digestive health and help prevent hemorrhoids is to get up and move around. This is especially important if you have a job that requires a lot of sitting. Try to stand up at least once an hour or two. This will go a long way to curing your hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids are one of those subjects that people don’t like to talk about. They seem to be one of the few taboo areas of converstation left in our society today. But they are real and they are painful. In fact, at least 50% of people suffer from hemorrhoids at least one time by the time they are fifty. Luckily finding and external hemorrhoid treatment that actually works is easier than ever.

The causes of hemorrhoids vary. There seems to be a genetic component – meaning if your mom or dad got hemorrhoids you are more likely to get them. There is also a lifestyle component. Hemorrhoids are nearly always caused by straining during bowel movements, sitting for long periods of time, or pregnancy. Luckily for pregnant women, the hemorrhoids generally resolve themselves after their baby is delivered. As far as bathroom habits and sitting goes, you will want to not only get hemorrhoid relief immediately, but will also want to make some small lifestyle changes so that you are not facing flare up after flare up.

Immediate Treatment for External Hemorrhoids

When I am discussing the symptoms and treatments for hemorrhoids, I always tell people to deal with the pain of the condition first and then deal with the underlying causes. Most people will find relief by following a few simple steps, although for a few hemorrhoids surgery or other types of doctor office based treatments become necessary.

When you are looking to get rid of the pain one of the best things you can do is treat it with an ice pack. Simply apply a cold compress or an ice pack made for hemorrhoids like hemmor-ice to the area several times a day. If you can do twenty minutes on and twenty minutes off for an hour or two that will really help. The cold therapy acts in two ways to nearly instantly help with the suffering. It reduces swelling – which makes you more comfortable, and it calms the pain.

Another proven hemorrhoid cure is to take a warm bath. You shouldn’t add anything to the bath water and you should never scrub at a hemorrhoid. A warm bath – also called a sitz bath – will both soothe the area and keep it clean. Soaking just the inflamed area is just as effective of an external hemorrhoid treatment as soaking your whole body.

Another great way to get instant relief from your hemorrhoid pain is to use over the counter suppositories. Preperation H makes some that get great customer feedback on Amazon. Suppositories scare a lot of people, but for fast relief, they really work well. Just try them and see.

Finally, these tips are great for getting rid of hemorrhoids symptoms in the short term, but if you want to reduce flare ups in the long term you should check out this article on how to get rid of hemorrhoids. It will show you what lifestyle changes to make that will help keep those nasty buggers from coming back.

Many, many people suffer from hemorrhoids. The condition is more common as you get to be around 50 or so, but it can effect people of any age or gender. Hemorrhoids are basically varicose veins in your anus. They protrude through the rectal wall and can bleed and be painful. If you have ever experienced this (or are experiencing it now) you probably want to know how to get rid of hemorrhoids fast.

The good news is that there are easy ways to treat hemorrhoids that work very well. Let’s start by looking at the different types and degrees of hemorrhoids that you may be experiencing, so that you can know the best way to treat them.

There are two basic types – internal hemorrhoids and external hemorrhoids. The internal type usually doesn’t hurt, but can bleed and be quite frightening. Of course, bleeding from the rectum is always something that should be taken seriously, because while the great majority of rectal bleading is caused by anal piles, sometimes this type of bleeding can indicate a more serious condition and should be checked out.

When people are wondering “How to get rid of hemorrhoids”, it is nearly always about external hemorrhoids. The reason for this is because they hurt. The external type of hemorrhoid will protrude past the opening of the anus. They are usually pendulous or round, and can range in color from pink to dark purple. The symptoms of this type include pain, swelling, itchiness, and bleeding. If you have this type of hemorrhoid then you will want to treat the pain first and then worry about treating the underlying causes.

Most of the time it is possible to get rid of hemorrhoids naturally, although sometimes you will need hemorrhoids surgery or another type of treatment at your doctor’s office.

One of the fastest and easiest natural treatments to use is a cold compress. Icing your hemorrhoid works exactly the same way as icing a sore back. It reduces pain and swelling nearly instantly. You should ice the area for 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off if the pain is severe, or at least as often as you can. You will be amazed at how much this helps. There is also a product on the market called hemmor-ice that is an insertable cold pack. Many people have had great relief with this product.

Another thing that works very well for many people is to use the over the counter products. There are both natural and pharmeceutical ones available for purchase. Of the natural products Venapro gets good reviews. Of the pharmeceutical type Preperation H suppositories work very well. The primary purpose of these types of products is to soothe the hemorrhoidal tissue and to make bowel movements easier.

Finally, Tylenol will work wonders at controlling the pain of hemorhoids. If you have never tried this, I urge you to. It really does help.

One of the truths about hemorrhoids is that they are embarrassing. Nobody wants to talk about them and many people feel uncomfortable discussing them even with their doctor. The funny thing about that is that hemorrhoids are very common, with over 50% of the population experiencing them by the age of 5o. If you have questions and want some hemorrhoid help you have come to the right place.

What are hemorrhoids?

The anal canal is filled with blood in order to cushion the movement of stool. Hemorrhoids are when those sacs of blood become irritated and distendended. Some of the symptoms of hemorrhoids include pain and itching for external hemorrhoids, and bleeding for internal ones.

If you think you have hemorrhoids, especially if they are accompanied by rectal bleeding, you should always see your doctor. Some polyps and cancer can present in similar ways and it is important to get those ruled out.

How to help hemorrhoids.

As annoying as they are hemorrhoids are not dangerous, and most respond to home treatment. External or prolapsed internal hemorrhoids are the type that are painful. To treat the pain of hemorrhoids at home there are several simple steps to follow.

Use cold compresses or ice packs to reduce pain and swelling.

Soak the affected area in warm water (sitz bath)

Use over the counter creams and suppositories for immediate relief

Use bulking agents and stool softeners to make elimination more comfortable.

These four steps should help to relieve the pain and discomfort of hemorrhoids right away.

What helps hemorrhoids that won’t go away.

Unless you are in severe pain or bleeding severely, give your hemorrhoids about a week and follow the above steps to see if they resolve on there own. If they don’t then it is time to see a doctor about other treatments.

It used to be the case that the only help with hemorrhoids you could get from a doctor was a full hemorrhoidectomy done with a scalpel. Treatments have come a long way since then, and there are many options available that are far less painful and have much shorter recovery times.

Some of the options you will want to ask your doctor or surgeon about are laser hemorrhoid surgery, rubber band ligation, freezing of external hemorrhoids, and PPH surgery. All of these are good options to treat difficult and persistent hemorrhoids.

No matter what type of hemorrhoids you have there is hemorrhoid help available. Treat them at home or get them treated, but don’t live in pain and discomfort any longer.

The term hemorrhoids refers to the stretching and enlarging of the blood filled sacs that naturally cushion the stool through the anal canal. Thrombosed hemorrhoids are when these sacs develop a blood clot. They can be quite painful so knowing how to treat them is essential.

Common causes of all types of hemorrhoids (including thrombosed) are pregnancy, sitting for extended periods of time, and difficult bowel movements. Hemorrhoids occur in at least 50% of the population, and some people estimate as high as 85%.

When you get a thrombosed hemorrhoid, it will sometimes resolve itself, especially if you take warm baths and apply hemorrhoid creams.

Many doctors however do recommend surgery for this condition. This is not as scary as it sounds, and can often be done on an outpatient basis. For an external thrombosed hemorrhoid many times a small incision is made in the hemorrhoid itself and the clot is removed. Other times the entire hemorrhoid is removed. There is also the option of rubber band ligation especially for internal thrombosed hemorrhoids.

If your hemorrhoid pain is severe and you decide to have surgery, than you will want to take some after care measures to make sure that everything goes well.

One of the most important things is that your bowel movements remain soft after surgery. This will help your incision to heal faster and to be less painful. In order to achieve this you should take an over the counter stool softener along with a fiber supplement.

Other than that you can take warm baths to help keep the site clean and allow it to heal, and you can take Tylenol for any pain.

All in all, thrombosed hemorrhoids are one of the most difficult and painful types to deal with. If you have a hemorrhoid that is interfering with your life, than you should certainly see your doctor.

Are there any real cures for hemorrhoids? It depends on what you mean by “cure”. If you mean can you treat hemorrhoids and have them go away, and not have them return (or return very infrequently) then yes there is a cure for hemorrhoids. The first thing you will want to do is treat any pain or discomfort you may be having and then you will want to treat the underlying causes to keep your hemorrhoids from coming back.

Cure for external hemorrhoids:

External hemorrhoids (and internal prolapsed hemorrhoids) are the ones that can really hurt, so it is important to treat these first. Usually they respond to home treatment. If you are unsure if you have hemorrhoids however, or if you are bleeding from the rectum, you should always consult a doctor.

One of the very best and most cost effective ways to treat painful and itchy hemorrhoids, regardless of their severity, is to apply an ice pack to the area. This will immediately reduce the swelling and get rid of some of the pain. You can also use over the counter creams such as Tucks or Preperation H or order all natural treatments online. Another thing that you can do that will help a great deal is take sitz baths. This is simply a warm water bath that you soak your backside in. If your hemorrhoid is particularly uncomfortable you don’t even have to sit down. Taking a sitz bath is a very effective natural cure for hemorrhoids and will help to keep the area clean as well.

Cure for bleeding hemorrhiods:

Occasionally external hemorrhoids bleed, but it is more often the internal ones that do. Unless your hemorrhoid is bleeding profusely (in which case you should go to see the doctor) then you should be able to treat it with some simple lifestyle changes. These changes also work to help keep external hemorrhiods from coming back as well.

One of the chief causes of all types of hemorrhoids is constipation or straining while you are eliminating waste. Thankfully this has a very easy way to remedy the situation. Simply eat more fiber rich foods like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. This is a great home cure for hemorrhoids. Remember, to increase your amount gradually for best results.

Most hemorrhoids will respond to the treatments listed above. If yours don’t though (and that does happen) then it is time to see your doctor for other options.

Hemorrhoids are swollen skin covered veins that either bleed when you are having a bowel movement (internal) or are very painful (external). There are different types of hemorrhoids and different degrees of symptoms, but the good news is that they are not dangerous and most of them can be treated at home. However, if you are not sure that you have hemorrhoids or if you notice any anal bleeding you should always see your doctor for a diagnosis. A lot of diseases can look like hemorrhoids, but are not hemorrhoids.

How to get rid of hemorrhoids:

There are several different methods to getting rid of hemorhoids at home, but one thing you should know before you start is that those pillows that are rings can actually make your hemorrhoids worse. Do sit on a pillow if you are having trouble with your hemorrhoids, but just don’t use one of those ring type pillows.

How to get rid of external hemorrhoids. Some of the things you can do to treat the pain of your hemorrhoids right away (and who doesn’t want to get out of pain) is to apply a cold compress to the area. This will reduce swelling and irritation, and a lot of times this is the only thing you need to do to get your hemorrhoid to go away on its own. Next, if the pain is very irritating you should take some Tylenol. Don’t take ibuprofen or any other NSAID as this can make any bleeding you are experiencing worse.

Finally, use some of the products that are available on the market. There are commercial products like Preperation H and Tucks and then there are all natural products like Venapro. These products are meant to give you immediate relief from hemorrhoid pain and they work very well. To keep your hemorrhoids from coming back however you need to follow the following advice.

How to get rid of internal hemorrhoids (and keep the external ones from coming back). Allowing your body to heal itself is the key to getting rid of internal hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are generally caused by straining when you eliminate waste. This is usually caused by a lack of fiber in the diet. If you increase your fiber intake gradually (fruits, vegetables, beans, and whole grains) than your bowel movements will become easier. I have also personally found that taking 1 teaspoon full of cod liver oil per day helps a lot.

Most of the time hemorrhoids will resolve themselves with just a little home treatment, but not always. If you have recurring hemorrhoids, or if they will just not go away, then you should go see your doctor. She will be able to help you make decisions about what the best course of action is to take.
