External hemorrhoids are visible and occur outside the anus. They are basically skin covered veins that are swollen. Sometimes they appear blue, but if they are tender and hurt than they turn red. Thrombosed external hemorrhoids will contain a blood clot, these are extremely painful and are a firm and tender mass. If you feel that you have hemorrhoids, but have never been diagnosed be sure to see a doctor to rule out any more serious conditions.
External hemorrhoids are usually the more painful type. Internal ones can bleed, but generally do not hurt unless they prolapse. If you are looking for external hemorrhoids relief you have come to the right place.

Treatment for external hemorrhoids

Most hemorrhoids will respond to home treatments, but there are also a variety of office based treatments available including super freezing, laser and pph surgery, and traditional hemorrhoidectomies. Generally speaking it is always best to try to resolve hemorrhoids at home with home treatments and lifestyle changes before doing surgeries.

While there is no way to cure external hemorrhoids in the same way you can cure an infection with antibiotics, both they symptoms and the underlying causes are treatable.

There are four basic steps for treating for pain relief.

Take a non NSAID pain reliever such as Tylenol

Apply a cream or wipe such as Preperation H or Tucks

Apply a cold compress

Take sitz baths. (Soak the anal area in hot water)

Once you have addressed the pain issues of the hemorrhoids it is time to address the cause. Hemorrhoids can be caused by several factors. Sitting for long periods of time, straining during bowel movements, and pregnancy can all cause hemorrhoids to form.

In the case of pregnancy the hemorrhoids usually resolve themselves after the baby is born, but when it comes to regularity and exercise there are lifestyle changes that you can easily implement that will help your hemorrhoid to not return.

One of the most important things you can do to promote good digestive health is to follow a high fiber diet and drink plenty of water. While you are adjusting to a high fiber diet (and you should add these foods gradually) using a stool softener may help your hemorrhoids to heal.

Another thing you can do is get up and move around a bit during your work day. Sitting for 6 to 8 hours at a stretch isn’t good for anyone.

Effective external hemorrhoids treatments can be fairly easy. Just follow the above advice and your hemorrhoid should go away in a minimal amount of time.

The question, “Can You Cure Hemorrhoids?” is a tough one to answer. A lot of that depends on what you mean by cure. If you mean can you treat hemorrhoids so that they go away and change your lifestyle so that they are unlikely to come back then that answer is, “Yes, you can cure hemorrhoids.”
How to cure hemorrhoids.

When you are looking at hemorrhoid cures, you need to be aware of what causes hemorrhoids in the first place. Most people get hemorrhoids because of straining during elimination of wastes. The rectal tissue fills with blood to help with bowel movements and when you regularly strain those tissues they weaken and cause hemorrhoids. What this means is that no matter how you treat them, you won’t be curing hemorrhoids unless you fix the straining (constipation) issue.

The best way to cure constipation is to eat between 25 and 30 grams of fiber a day. Fiber is miraculous. It makes you regular and if you eat enough fiber is will also help you to regulate your blood sugar and to maintain a healthy weight. Getting fiber in your diet is fairly easy. Eat fresh fruit and vegetables and whole grains and beans. If you are not eating a lot of fiber right now, you will want to build up gradually. Another great tip for staying regular is to take 1 teaspoon of cod liver oil a day. I know it sounds hokey, but it works. Eliminating constipation and creating regularity is the best way to cure internal hemorrhoids.

To cure external hemorrhoids you will want to follow the same steps as above, but because external hemorrhoids can be very painful and uncomfortable, you should also add a few more steps for instant relief.

One of the very best things you can do for pain relief is to put ice on the affected area. This will dramatically reduce the swelling and it works almost instantly. Taking Tylenol (not NSAIDS) will also help with pain. And even though the commercials are cheesy Preparation H and Tucks both have topical pain relievers and can really help a lot.

If you have hemorrhoid symptoms (especially bleeding) be sure to consult your doctor to eliminate other possible causes. No matter how you treat your hemorrhoids, it is very important to treat the underlying causes so that you reduce flare ups and can find a cure for hemorrhoids.
