Having hemorrhoids is a more common condition than you might think.  At least 50% of people have them by the age of 50 and women are more prone to hemorrhoids than men, mostly because of the weight that childbearing puts on the pelvic area.   Although they are painful there are effective and inexpensive treatments for hemorrhoids that you can do at home.

Treatment for bleeding hemorrhoids.

Although external hemorrhoids can and do bleed, what most people mean when they talk about bleeding hemorrhoids is internal hemorrhoids.   These hemorrhoids generally don’t hurt unless the blood supply is cut off.   The most effective way to get rid of them is to use a natural treatment for hemorrhoids.  When you have bleeding hemorrhoids you need to treat the cause of them to allow them to heal on their own.   Most hemorrhoids are caused by straining during bowel movement.   If you can eliminate the straining and create soft bowel movements then they will most likely heal on their own.

This is actually fairly easy to do.  The key is to eat more fiber in your diet.  Fiber creates bulk in your intestinal system and makes everything work better.  To add fiber to your diet you will want to increase your intake of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.  There are also excellent supplements that you can take.   If you are not used to a high fiber diet (aim for 25 to 30 grams a day) you should build up your intake gradually and allow your digestive system to get used to your new way of eating.

With these steps you will be able to treat your hemorrhoids at home, if they don’t respond then you should see your doctor for a medical treatment for hemorrhoids.
