Valium while breast feeding?

I am currently breast feeding my 12 week old and I have a horrible hemorrhoid that I got while giving birth I wanted to know if it is okay to take one or even a half of valium while breast feeding?/ I am in serious pain and would like some relief I have tried preparation H and ibuprofen with no avail.
I thought it was for pain..did not know thatnks for your answers.
Obber..I know a valium is not going to heal it..I am looking to help the pain..and if valium is not for pain then I am not going to take it let alone if it is not safe..thats why I asked..I am not looking for a tranquilizer.

Ask your doctor for some anusol – it will help to shrink it to a size that doesn’t hurt but probably won’t make it go away completely. Valium is not for pain.

It should be OK.

Valium is not a pain killer it is a nerve pill. Taking any medication while breast feeding needs to be discussed with your doctor ALWAYS.

I don’t know what you think Valium will do for a hemorrhoid. If you want a tranquilizer for something else there are better choices for nursing mothers…

"Diazepam is excreted into breastmilk and it and its active metabolite, nordiazepam, accumulate in the serum of breastfed infants with repeated doses. Because the half-life of diazepam and nordiazepam are long, timing breastfeeding with respect to the dose is of little or no benefit in reducing infant exposure. Other agents are preferred, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant."

You need to talk to your doctor…
